The Book
Story
The story tells about 8 year-old Hayk, who in 1915, during the terrible period of the Armenian Genocide in Western Armenia participates in the rescue of the largest Armenian manuscript “Arvestagir” (“The Moush Homilarium”). Together with his grandmother Araksya and her sister Nane, Hayk reaches from Mush to Alexandropoulos. On his way he witnesses the torture and death of thousands of innocent people and loses his faith in God. But thanks to the love and kindness of other people he meets, he regains his faith.
